The most popular Instagrammable places in Ibiza

The following places aren’t exactly solitary, and during the summer months you will have to find your own time and space, but you certainly won’t want to miss taking pictures of yourself in them, which is why we are sharing them with you.

Platges de Comte (Cala Conta)

Platges de Comte (Cala Conta)

In this famous set of coves, one of the most beautiful beaches of Ibiza, we recommend three enclaves.  The first is the Sunset Ashram beach bar, which has excellent views of the sea and the islets. The second is the stairs leading down to Cala Escondida, and the third is the cove where the boat from Sant Antoni docks, which is a perfect spot to be photographed swimming in aquamarine blue waters.

How to get there: by car, the L4 bus or the ferry.

Es Vedrà viewpoint

Es Vedrá Ibiza

This beautiful place located on the cliffs near Cala d’Hort has become one of the most photographed spots in Ibiza, a must for any self-respecting Instagrammer. If you want a photo at sunset, be patient. If you are looking for an alternative viewpoint, go to the main car park of Cala d’Hort. And if you really want solitude and magic, you’re better going at dawn.

Cala d’Hort

This location next to the Es Vedrà viewpoint provides another beautiful perspective of the islets of Es Vedrà and Es Vedranell. The best photo of the cove, whose seafaring huts have been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, can be taken from the top of the cliff. If you prefer to look towards Es Vedrà, head for the wooden jetty at the right-hand end of the cove.

Saladeta Cove

Cala Salada Ibiza

This is one of the most Instagrammable coves in Ibiza thanks to the colour of its waters and the fact that it is located under a cliff, making it very easy to take a good picture of. This corner is more suited to the morning than the afternoon, so frame it before the sun starts to set.

How to get there: by car (access is restricted between 10:00 h -18:00 h), motorbike, the L34 bus or the ferry.

Xarraca Cove

Cala Xarraca Ibiza

In recent years, this beach became very famous among Instagrammers because of the swing that hung from a rock. Yes, we said “hung” in the past tense. It is no longer there. There’s no need to make a pilgrimage to this remote cove in the north of Ibiza unless you want to snorkel and relax on a pleasant wild beach with a family atmosphere. You can reach an alternative spot to show off your most flattering pose by walking along the cliff to the far left, along which you’ll soon find a nice view of the cove.

Es Bol Nou

The clay coastline in the south of Ibiza is prone to landslides, hence the formation of a unique rock gateway at Es Bol Nou, which is a favourite spot for Instagrammers on holiday on the White Isle. To find it, head towards the Phoenician settlement of Sa Caleta. If you continue along the path, you will come to a natural harbour whose group of sea huts is an Asset of Cultural Interest.

Benirrás Cove

This photogenic beach in the north of Ibiza will give you the opportunity to take three great photographs. One from the shore at sunset with the Cap Bernat islet on the horizon; another from the dry dock huts, and another from the path that climbs up the cliff on the south side. And forget about Sunday drumming parties: they don’t do that any more.

Llentia Cove

The small cove, which is difficult to access, is not what will interest you most about this spot. It’s the two sculptural groups that you will find in the vicinity: the group of dolmens that make up the work Time and Space, created by Andrew Rogers at the request of the millionaire Guy Laliberté, founder of the Cirque du Soleil; and the Can Soleil Doors, made by an anonymous artist, where the island of Es Vedrà is framed. Although it is a well-known place, it doesn’t get overcrowded due to the limited parking in the area.

5 other places in Ibiza for Instagram

The following spots are just as Instagrammable as the previous ones, but you won’t have to find the time and space to take your photo session in peace and quiet.

The ruins and graffiti that decorate the walls of this old 70s discotheque will give you a lot to play with for your Instagram. Due to its orientation, it’s best to go at dusk so you can photograph the sunset.

You’ll love the hydrotherapy circuit at the spa of the remote Hacienda Na Xamena hotel so much that you’ll go crazy making stories and reels for your Insta! We recommend that you book your session in advance for sunset, which is the best time to take pictures of this spectacular circuit overlooking the cliffs.

The coloured ponds at sunset make this spot one of the most Instagrammable places in Ibiza. If you go between August and October, you are likely to be able to photograph flamingos. Another beautiful image can be found in the church of Sant Francesc, with the salt flats in the background.

Puig de Missa

Both the church porch and the narrow streets leading to the top of the hill will give you a lot of great backgrounds for your Instagram photoshoot. Don’t wear white clothes if you want to stand out from the background. It is a must-visit place in Ibiza, so a trip to this church in Santa Eulària will be doubly worthwhile.

Dalt Vila

Dalt Vila (Ibiza)

Ibiza’s old town is full of charming places to photograph. We are not going to recommend one in particular because Dalt Vila is one of the best places on the island for you to show off your creativity. But we do have two pieces of advice: don’t skip the walls and forget about wearing high heels.  The best time: sunset.

How to get there: on foot.

Tips and Suggestions for taking photos for Instagram

Ibiza Dalt Vila Instagram

Here are some tips to improve your Instagram photos and make them stand out:

  • Use natural light
Natural light is your best friend. Avoid using flash and take advantage of the “golden hour” (at sunrise or sunset), when the light is soft and golden, creating flattering shadows and warm tones for your photos.
  • Find the perfect angle
Experiment with different angles to find the one that best highlights you or your subject. For object or landscape photos, try unusual angles to surprise the viewer.
  • Follow the rule of thirds
Divide the image into thirds, both horizontally and vertically, and place the main subject at one of the intersections of those lines. This creates a more balanced and appealing composition.
  • Keep the background clean
Ensure the background doesn’t distract from the main subject. If it’s too chaotic, it can detract from your focus. Look for simple or blurred backgrounds to emphasize the object or person in the foreground.
  • Use reflections and symmetry
Reflections (in mirrors, water, or windows) and symmetry are often visually appealing. Experiment with these elements to create more engaging compositions.

  • Edit, but don’t over-edit
Editing can enhance a photo, but don’t overdo it with filters and retouches. Apply adjustments like brightness, contrast, saturation, and sharpness to improve the photo without making it look artificial.
  • Establish a color palette
Maintaining a consistent color palette in your feed creates a harmonious look. You can opt for pastel, neutral, or bright tones, depending on the style you want to project.
  • Tell a story
Photos that tell a story or convey emotion usually connect better with the audience. Consider the context and what you want to communicate before taking the shot.
  • Be original
Originality is key on Instagram. Photos that capture genuine and spontaneous moments are often more appreciated than those that seem staged.
  • Use burst mode
If you’re photographing a moving moment or trying to capture a specific pose, use burst mode to have multiple options and select the best one.

Ibiza Es Vedra Instagram

  • Play with perspective
Don’t hesitate to get close to your subject or pull back to capture more of the surroundings. Changing perspective can make an ordinary scene more interesting.
  • Use portrait mode
If your phone has portrait mode, use it to create a blurred background, helping the subject stand out more prominently.
  • Apply creative shadows and lights
Creative shadows and unusual lighting (such as those filtering through blinds or branches) add depth and an artistic touch to your photos.
  • Include people
Photos that include people tend to generate more engagement. Whether it’s a hand holding an object or a figure walking through the scene, it adds dynamism to the image.
  • Have fun and experiment
Don’t feel constrained by the rules. Sometimes, the most interesting photos come from having fun and experimenting with new ideas or styles.

With these tips, your Instagram photos will be more visually appealing and have a greater impact on your audience.
